Alan Raven believed it to be in a 3 colour scheme consisting of 507A, B5 and 507C in order of darkest to lightest.

Photos of the port side of Edinburgh in her final scheme taken from USS Wasp in April 1942 show 4 tones. Those photos and others taken in Russia and when sinking also show detail differences to tone/layout/shape of camouflage panels compared to what is drawn on p26 of WP2.

Hi Richard,

I confess I haven't studied it too much but the sinking photos portray some rather beat-up paint work but still I wasn't sure I was seeing the same thing as WP2 p26 as you say.

You may have inspired me to look more closely...

That's great, this is the first step to success! :thumbs_up_1:
Now just find the layout of the camouflage fields ....
Many thanks!

Thank you for your help.... unfortunately, this book is unavailable for me :-(. Does not matter, I'll search further on! :-)

If I recall correctly, Alan Raven's "Warship Perspectives, Camouflage Vol. 2: Royal Navy 1942" (I think that's the volume) has a line drawing of Edinburgh in her final camouflage.

Hello, friends, I'd like to ask if somebody of you knows anything about camo scheme and colors of HMS Edinburgh on her last action in April - May 1942? I've been searching a long time, but I've found nothing. Thank you in advance!
