BUMP.

What was the conclusion you came to, Hank? Inquiring minds want to know.

Tom,

Will do - AND I was wondering the same thing - whether other cans of "air" would work as well. I'll let you know when I update the review.

Hank

I wonder if the Acryl would spray easier, or not? Interesting idea, I know there are cans of "air" available, will these fit the apparatus?

Thanks for bringing this product to our attention and do advise as to whether the thinning helps the final texture.

Cheers. Tom

The Cap Sprayer arrived yesterday and basically consists of this:

The kit comes with 5 bottles of acrylics which I will store since I'm using enamels on this project.

I filled the provided sprayer bottle with Lt. Ghost Gray enamel and put the unit together. Initially, the spraying was even and steady. But, very quickly, the tiny hole in the spray cap became clogged and needed to be cleaned (using the cleaning wire provided). This cycle repeated itself until I had finished spraying all the parts I had ready for painting.

Tonight I will thin the bottle of paint down a bit using Testors thinner and see how that works. I have several other pieces ready to paint so there is no lack of subject matter.

One other aspect I noticed was that it won't take long to go thru a can of propellant. Luckily, I have the can that came with my air brush kit and I can use that when the kit supplied can runs out.

I'll reserve judgement on the kit as a whole until after I've thinned the paint a bit and see how it does after that.

Note - This is a review of the Sprayer, not the paint.

I purchased the Acrylic Military Aircraft Cap Sprayer Set as a way to spray on the bottle paint for my current project. This color paint is not available in spray can and I didn't want to learn how to airbrush on this particular model. The set comes with 6 acrylic paints (which will be shelved as I am using enamels on this model).

I had contacted Testers last week in regards to perhaps running a special batch of spray for me but they responded that this was not possible due to the time involved determining the proper amount of aerosol needed to propel that particular color of paint. From this I gather that each color differs in the amount of propellant gas required to make that particular color work correctly. They suggested I look at their CAP SPRAYER Sets. This simply involves removing the bottle cap and replacing with the sprayer cap and using the included spray gun. To be honest, I could have discovered this myself had I taken the time several months ago to visit the other places on Testers website which have these sets listed.

The shipment date should be next week so I will update this posting once I've had a chance to use the cap sprayer. If anyone else has purchased this set I would appreciate any feedback, one way or another regarding their use of the product.

Hank
