There have been some complaints on Amazon about the print quality. There is only one printer who can do the book and distribute through Amazon.

However, you can get a better quality printed book here:

https://www.lulu.com/shop/john-miano/a- ... 5z4jy.html

This is the same printer that does the books sold on the ships.

Sorry about this but its the problem with monopolies.

I found the reason it is not on amazon. The distributor pulled the book from distribution without even telling me. A couple of weeks after asking they said the reason was the book was produced by automated means. I.e. whoever made that determination did not even bother looking at it. I am looking for another distributor but it is on the Lulu.com store now.

It is finally back on Amazon.

Congratulations on the success of the book! This format has a convenience and permanency that electronic media does not possess. Nothing like a good reference in one's library!

This is one of the most impressive books yet on the IOWA Class battleship - and a great asset for modelers - I'm glad I had a small part in it's being in print! I highly recommend it for anyone's library.

Amazon has stopped carrying the book for some unexplained reason.

It is still available on the lulu store

Battleship New Jersey sold out their entire stock in one day. More books are on the way.

Other Battleships should have it soon as well.

The book is available to battleships at cost so that all proceeds can go to the ship.

In response a photo of the Starboard Admiral's Bridge, Missouri:

Mostly empty sun room for the Admiral, probably has a typical bridge chair at one point.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/098998043X/

310 pp. 11x8.5" Full Color 600 figures. Hardcover. Heavy glossy paper.

A photographic tour of the entire ship, including areas not open to the public and difficult to access. The book is organized by deck. Each deck has a plan with the photographs keyed to the plan so the reader can see where they were taken. Plans for full decks span two spreads.

The focus of the photographs is structural features of the ship, most of which have not appeared in print before. Examples include:

- The joint between class A and class B belt armor taken from a void space
- The interior of the twin keel
- Peak tank
- Breasthook
- Chain Locker
- Shafts and thrust bearings
- Turret foundation
- All the levels of the turrets, including the turret bearings
- Aviation fuel tanks
- Uptakes

Samples (Sadly, at extremely low resolution for uploading to this forum):
