The good news is that the PS plastics used in models since the 50s seems to last forever although CA glue won't attach too well to any parts that have been filled and filed with plastic filler. As you can see in the above photos a good sea-effect base can really 'lift' a model in more ways than one. Nice work.
making a good seascape is an essential way to improve the appearancw of this old built models

Very nice and complete rebuilt. I am in the same process rebuilding a fleet of 30 models, there are challengers how to deal with old glue and match older color with new one.

Thanks guys,

I am glad you liked it.
It is the third IJN cruiser I have rebuilt. (Takao, Kumano and now Tone).

I really like old rebuilds. Ive done that to a couple of my old Deutschland class ships. I wasnt as diligent fully finishing them as you, this is very impressive work!

This is the Fujimi IJN Tone FJM410043. An old Kit that I have completely rebuilt, using generic photo-etched parts and a lot of scratch. The masts have been completely rebuilt as well as new parts from the Pit Road sets of equipment for Japanese ships.

It has been a difficult build and I wanted to complete three old kits that I had (Takao, Kumano and Tone). The paints used have been Vallejo and effects in pastel tones have been added.
