Was? Not heard of that one before. Would be quite curious to know if anyone has tried it.

I tend to vary between using either impasto gel and white glue, both work quite well.

Apply them, let them start to dry, then pull them to shape.

As Jim was saying milliput is a good method I have also seen people useing wax could anyone comment on this.

Various methods...

You could try using milliput( has the advantage of being white-ideal forIJN..), or general modelling putty. Apply the minimum at the top and build up the sagging and relaxed canvas at the bottom as appropriate

I personally like using white glue( Elmers in the USA)

As it dries it makes a skin-which the stretches downwards with the un-set glue within.

as it hardens one can pull some creases into it

Is there a technique for making the gun bags around large caliber 14/16inch guns for battelships?

I am working on the IJN BB Haruna and would like to model up some gun bags. I see people use masking tape...but what is the thechnique?
