Thank you for sharing your build, something quite different to most the subjects on this site.

Ark Royal 1588 kitbash

Hello! I'm a long time lurker but am new to ship modeling in general. This all started about 15 years ago when I became interested in naval warfare during the 16th century. I decided that I wanted to build a Spanish and an English Galleon in similar scale (think of Osprey's Duel series). I foolishly selected Lindberg's Ark Royal (ex-Pyro) and Heller's Corona. The Pyro kit didn't look seaworthy, and the Heller kit used the same ship hull for about four different kits (Corona, Stella, Elizabethan, and Spanish "Gallion"). One day I was messing around with both kits and I realized that the bulkeads on both kits were of a similar width..say, this would make a fun kit bash... So let me present my first sailing ship model I ever completed, the Ark Royal kitbash.
