Hi Bill this may be a long shot but in the absence of any workable drawings of the Huascar I would suggest you try for the drawings of the Dutch turret ship Schorpioen built by La Seyne in 1868 which is now a Museum ship in the Netherlands. Both ships have a similar hull profile, with the size and displacement being close. Also the sister ship Stier was built at Lairds of Birkenhead only 3 years after the building of the Huascar . There are plans for the Schorpioen and with the on board pictures available you may have a some useful material to work with.
Hope this helps in your quest

hi
thanks to all
the Huascar im going to build will be a r/c model and will not be to a scale but a size of 30"-36" long to fit in my car
i can not reach the fine detail you do so its going to be a stand of scale and detail

i have been making model soldier patterns and doing spincasting for over 30 years now so i will use my knowledge in this field to make the parts ect

its were the Cammell Laird shipyard records are kept . found it there just waiting for reply

they have hundreds of ship plans and dont cost an arm and leg
have alook :woo_hoo:
The Wirral Archive also hold a collection of on board photos I believe they are part of the "Gerald Wood collection". If my memory serves me correct "Warship Vol 10" 1986 ran a two part article on the Huascar which included a number of good drawings and photos by Gerald Wood.
Hope this helps

I have written to them asking if they would sell me a model--they may well be able to assist you with a plan...

They are based in Peru

write to them here:

Andes Craft & models EIRL <andescraft@speedy.com.pe>
their website:

they were very helpful!

To bill1957:
Did you send me a PM re. HMVS Cerberus plans a few days ago?
I accidentally deleted all my messages today (pressed "delete all" rather than "delete selected" :censored_2:) so wasn't able to reply (as I couldn't remember your user name)

ok - it was a try, although I should have considered your browsing the web too - sorry.

May I suggest you get in contact with this man:

wolfgang.bohlayer@thyssenkrupp.com

He is a top sales manager at Blohm & Voss Hamburg. He might have a contact for you in Chile's navy or can pull some strings for you. I can imagine they have drawings of their most historic warship...

Just an idea.
