Actually 40MHz isn't legal in Canada... 27Mhz, 75Mhz, or 2.4Ghz for surface models or if you have a ham radio license you can also use 50Mhz and 53Mhz radios.

I can't give a link that provides all the answers you are looking for, but I would recommend you check out the following....

hi
so you will need a basic 2/3 channel transmitter ( tx ) 27 or 40 if you buy from a shop it will come with a servo & a reciver ( rx ) & a charger it should also come with betteries, don't forget the critals ( xtails )
you can run prinz on 6 or 12 volt. keep the rx as far away from the other commponents as is possible.
you will also need a speed controller something in the 15 / 20 amp range.
you should be able to buy shafts & a frames over the counter.
thats enough for now see how much of that you can get your head around.
cheers

The first step would be to get a good book on the subject.

Log on to "Amazon" and seach for books on "boat radio control". There's bound to be something useful. Failing that, try the local library.

Good luck.
