Hello! I do have to get in this discussion. I have and some friends have B a D shipmodels kits. Now ,they are wood , plank on frame ,but , they build into nice ships.Besides they don,t cost as much.I do know that they have ARLEIGH BURKE and ADAMS type ships. Why don,t you go to their website at www.BaD shipmodels and check them out as well. commodore4

Hello-

I have built both a Tico and a Burke from the scale shipyards hulls and fittings sets. Pictures of My burke- the USS Stout can be seen in the gallery section of Warship Models Underway

http://wmunderway.8m.com/home/home.htm

WMU by the way is an excellent source for information and help, and is more geared to the large scale R/C Group.

I have never purchased from the other vendors and can't vouch for their products- I always buy my hulls at the Scale Shipyard- and have never been disapointed. What Travis says is spot on- Lee puts 110% into his hulls, and if you have any questions, he's more than happy to help.

Nightreeper,

ScaleShipyard is a great vendor for what you are looking for. Lee is very helpful even during the build. I got a 1/96th Scale USS North Carolina Hull I am working on from him.

I have had nothing but great support from scale shipyard w/ all my questions.

Hope it helps!!

There is no 1/96 complete kit of a Burke or Tico. The best you are going to do is buy a Fiberglass hull, Fittings set, running gear/radio and maybe a superstructure set.

These are the sites to check out in the US:

http://scaleshipyard.com/Main%20Pages/main.html

http://www.loyalhannadockyard.com/

http://www.homeportmodels.com/

http://wmunderway.8m.com/home/home.htm

There are more in the UK and elsewhere, but check these out and then look through the links pages.

I am looking at building 1/96 scale U.S. Navy modern cruiser and destroyer ships like the Arleigh Burke and Ticonderoga.

Thanks for pointing out Deans Marine but I only saw one Navy ship the USS Kidd listed in their products list.

I live in the U.S.

Deans, also in the UK, produce lots of 1:96 hulls and kits.

Hello all, I am a new member to this board but have been reading the materials here for the past couple months. I like all the information the members have offered on this site! Can I get some advice on Sirmar kits? Do you recommend them? I have also been looking at Scaleshipyard. Any advice on their products would be appreciated too.
