Thanks for the comments. Hope you've all been well. Back from the dead and work resumes.
Here are some photos of the model as it presently appears with new L'Arsenal resin 5-inch/38 single mounts installed.
Yorktown carried four 5 inch/38 caliber Mk.24 mounts during WWII, all on the port side. It was necessary to have these single mounts on the port side since the 5" twin mounts fore and aft of the island on the starboard side could not be depressed sufficiently when firing to port. Additionally, aircraft on the flight deck would foul their firing arcs, and firing the twins to port put the flight deck and any aircraft nearby at risk to blast damage.
I think L'Arsenal captured their look beautifully.
