I tend not to superglue myself by doing something amazing.....paying attention to what I'm doing! But then I also haven't cut myself at the hobby bench with an X-acto or scalpel since I was about 14. I get a giggle out of the horror stories told on web forums by the insanely inattentive.

Do NOT use the accelerator if you have any significant amount on your skin. When you accelerate CA glue it gets extremely hot. Not only will you have stuck skin, you'll probably get a blister out of it as well.

I use nail polish remover, it's acetone anyway.
1 use gloves* like I do cheap plastic or latex is fine, also it stops oils from your fingers being transferred to the work. ( in my case germs from the pt to me & vise versa) I used to do lots of young adults from the beach who didn't want or couldn't stand suturing. super glue was the last resort.
2 safety glasses on the odd occasion that a small drop gets flicked off of the tip of the tubes dispenser into your face.
* some people have sweaty hands & or more oily hands these people tend not to suffer long with superglue the natural oils etc help debond the fingers etc, some people take longer.

Remember if you pick up something like a phone to call for help it may bond to you as well-- yup 1 patient came in with the phone glued to his hand & ear & the wifes hand when she tried to help dislodge it. It's not so funny in the retelling but it was when they came into cas.
Then there's the wife & the boyfriend caught by her husband, superglue everywhere, they were really stuck on each other! & the sheets, too much acetone req for that job, we gave sedation, and waited for the medical photographer :big_grin:
Moral hide the superglue!

...on the surface, do you accelerate first, then debond, or do you go right for the debonder?
