At this point, the sisters are actually done. I hope to post some pics under the completed category and even in the gallery in the near future.

This is Ushio just prior to commissioning with her flag. I subsequently realized that her rigging forward is incorrect for late war and had to rework it. That will show up in the completed photos. Shirayuki and Inazuma are also receiving tweaks.

Some newer photos, though all ships are further along than these photos depict. All are likely to be done by the end of the month, it seems. Ayanami is actually finished. I'll have to shoot some decent photos for the gallery at some point as everything here is Photoshopped to recover some color but clarity and sharpness has been lost.

Hi, Jim:

Yes on correcting the mine rails aft to parallel

Don't know if you read thru that portion on the CASF thread but,the kit caps are all wrong. I cut off the molded grills, drilled out the cap, flipped it upside down so as to insure that the leading edge of the funnel is a straight line in profile, then sanded the sides and back to match. The back in profile is also straight in line with the rest of the funnel. This aspect is a real p-i-t-a. Grills are scratchmade from brass square mesh.

The roof of the compass bridge is topped with 3 lookout positions. Yes, the cages are made from PE railings. Two sections of the straight two bar type (#5, I think) on the GMM ultrafine IJN railing fret.

From the Gran Prix Shuppan volume on IJN DDs, this illustration of the Type II bridge is an excellent guide.

Great work Dan.
I got the pit road Shikinami that you recomended to me recently in the post yesterday. The pit road molding makes the Timiya destroyer Im making now look positively stone age in comparison. Thanks for your heads up :)

Some questions if I may.
From what you say on the Fabuki thread I think the depth charge racks are at the wrong angle on my Shikinami as they are slightly angled and they should be parallel by 1942. If Im reading you right.
What are you using for the funnel caps? pe , pe scratch built or something else?
Those semi circular ariels on the bridge roof. What are they. Your making them with pe railings?

Hope you can help :)
