Hi, Jim:
Yes on correcting the mine rails aft to parallel
Don't know if you read thru that portion on the CASF thread but,the kit caps are all wrong. I cut off the molded grills, drilled out the cap, flipped it upside down so as to insure that the leading edge of the funnel is a straight line in profile, then sanded the sides and back to match. The back in profile is also straight in line with the rest of the funnel. This aspect is a real p-i-t-a. Grills are scratchmade from brass square mesh.
The roof of the compass bridge is topped with 3 lookout positions. Yes, the cages are made from PE railings. Two sections of the straight two bar type (#5, I think) on the GMM ultrafine IJN railing fret.
From the Gran Prix Shuppan volume on IJN DDs, this illustration of the Type II bridge is an excellent guide.
