One of those has been my buddy for a long time. Mine is covered in spray paint and the glass barely stays in its retaining ring.

Since getting back into model building in November, I was hunched over close to my hobby table peering through the tiny glass working on all of my 1/700 work. A couple of months ago, I finally bought a magnifying lamp. My back feels much better, now.

I too, have used it for putting decals on aircraft and for air brushing my ship masts, etc. I used to mask off the glass, but finally figured out that I could just remove the glass when painting.

This thing was given to me about two years ago by my daughter's boyfriend. It has sat on the bench for all that time just taking up space. As of today it now has a purpose. It gets to hold my little airplanes while I put the decals on. I should have thought of this earlier. I used to use clothes pins for that but it was hard to keep the pnis from sliding all over. This contraptions holds the planes in place with out any movement. I can do six a/c at a time now.
