WELL Peter a way round that problem is to get english plans an useing a steel rule the sort what wind up from say 3 mertes an just measure the plan in metric. Evan though my plans were english i did not have right plan i had to build my NIMITZ from a ENTERPRISE plan as hulls near the same so i still had to measure everything an most of this was just trace out sizes of say hull frames an keel then transfer to wood an cut out an build why not give it a try ? you don't know what you can do till you try an you may surprise yourself

HI Peter boatman here i see you are thinkin of building a 1/144 carrier well i would like to say im building a USS NIMITZ in 1/144 an it a nice scale to build in not to big an i have built in a hull jiont so it comes in two halves easy to transport but the scale is big enough to build in plenty of detail im thinking of posting my build on this site sometime. If you do a build i will look forward to following it
kind regards chris

thank u very much
hi peter ,as a compearison in scales 1/96 is 1/8" to a foot 1/192 is 1/16" to a foot.so 1/192 would be 1/2 the size of 1/96.nimitz in1/192 would be about 66"long
