Hello Patrick, :wave_1:

Just came across your log today. I am from Malta as well, and am posting the build log for the 1:72nd scale German Battle Cruiser "Scharnhorst".

A very nice model indeed. Do you intend to place it on a wooden base only or include a diorama to go with it?

Would be nice if we could meet and discuss our hobby and scratch building techniques.

Cheers.

Fixed - the 'l' at the end didn't copy over.

Yes, the model was finshed some time ago. You can see pictures of the finished model in the Gallery.

Look under Patick Camilleri.

Sorry d..... on't know how to provide a direct link.....

Beautiful work! I usually build model aircraft but have entertained a lifelong love affair with the Normandie and would love to scratchbuild one someday. Could anyone give ma tip on where I might find an accurate set of plans? My internet search so far has turned up a few interesting finds, but no plans. Thanks
Jean

Patrick,
Quodos to you. This is a beautiful scratch build of my favorite ship. You have a great deal of talent. Keep up the good work. I am in the process of completing a 1/500 scale model of Normandie, kit bashed from the Glenco SS France model. Here is my facebook link to see her from the start to where I am at present. After all the time spent, I feel that scratch building may have been easier. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... f08dc3010c

Very nice, and, where'd you get the plans?

This is looking absolutely stunning so far. You have really captured the graceful lines of the ship. Excellent work.

It looks wonderful, I wish I had the talent, skill and patience to pull off such a scratchbuild. More likely, I'll wait around for a resin kit to come out in 1/700.

Anyone know?

Normandie seems to have had a thin white waterline in her later years.

Does anyone know whether she had this early on in her life........... the pictures I see seem to indicate no white line, just black then red.

Patrick you have got this far and made a superb job Think of windows as just another challenge not a hurdle?
