Thank you Gilbert.

I used frosted glass plate on this 'sea effect trial'. Mixed Tamiya Clear Green and Tamiya Clear Blue 1:2 and sprayed under the plate 2 coats. Than sprayed only Tamiya Clear Blue over it when mix dried. Used Humbrol White enamel for waves over acrylic med. gel and cotton for bow wave. It is not so good but its good start for such details for me. I am happy with the result and I am planning to use same method for my future builds atm.

About sea effect, any additional ideas are welcome.

Hello,

Jim,
Sorry for very late thank you for your kind reply and help. I am still studying, watching and trying your techniques and way of modeling as much as I can do, hope I will live to understand and do repeat some part of it

Its been a long time since I worked back on Yubari. I tried to correct color tone by airbrushing Mr.Color 32 Yokosuka gray offering.

Serhan:

Try this for yardarm rigging:

Using stretched sprue, make two large loops-from yard arm to just pat the centre of mast
repeat for other side.

Using more stretched sprue, dipped in a pool of liquid cement, attach the melting end 2/3 of the way on your loop.-allow the loop to soften then pull upwards and cement to yard

Repeat in the other 1/3-

you should now have REALLY thin footropes

Does need some practice--but it is very fine...

Thank you Jose and Martin,

Jose rigging is really :censored_2: job for me now :lol_pound:
I tried to make yardarm rigs first with fishing line, then with p.e. railings at last bored and put spare yardarm of Akashi. Its wrong but seen better than nothing there. Anyway it is not started nice but I am bit stubborn :heh:

With the boost of Jim's watercolor paper sea effect method, I tried to simulate calm sea. Of course I could not found same material and its not finished yet but wanted to share with you :

Thank you Gilbert,

I will try 0.1 mm fishing line. I would like to have shape memory metal fishing wires but I could not find them.

Hi Serhan,

ship looks very good after painting :thumbs_up_1: . Don't worry about the linoleum brass strips because as war was going on, maintenance was going less especially for getting the strips clean.

Good luck for the rigging. What do you use ? stretched sprue, wire or fishing line ?

cheers

Gilbert

Thanks Gilbert but I am not good with enamels. I sprayed it over with Gunze 32. Now its bit darker but smoother surface.

Hi Serhan,

your Yokosuka Gray looks very good :thumbs_up_1: . WEM colourcoats are to be stirred a lot before using them to get to their best. Additionally, for airbrushing you have to thin them more than other enamel paints.

cheers

Looking good. What do you thin the Gunze with for air brushing?
Hello,

Thanks Jose and Rigel,

Only deck is painted with Gunze. I used laquer thinner and used same thing for wem's Yokosuka gray. In next ones, I must use another thinner for wem paints.
