I recently picked up a few books by Auriga, called "Advanced Painting" and so forth. Most are out of print, but vol 3 and 5 can still be bought. Vol 1 and 2 are offered for download (using google) but that looks fishy (Downloading illegal content is legal in the Netherlands :dead: ). It's nice to see that a series of books on advanced painting actually is about advanced painting! It's not a ship, but the techniques are the same and very inspiring. Airbrushing, drybrushing, washing, pin-washing, pastels, filtering, oils et cetera; all explained. Wonderful stuff.

I am new to ship modeling and wolud like to know a bit about washes,it seems that there are some that enhance the depth perception on the ships details. I really like the effect that a modeler by the name of Louis Carabott achieve's on some of his ship's shown in the gallery.
Any advice on how to achieve similar results would be greatly appreciated.
Also would like to know the best way to do the weathering?
