Re: Deck color for French WW2 warships.

The drawing I found on Profile Morskie 019 on Marseillaise & Georges Leygues has the latter painted in ms. 22 with an overall blue deck. Wood planking was, according to that drawing, painted over.
This makes sense to me: the ship was refitted into a US yard and if the workers were asked to paint that thing in ms. 22, and ms. 22 stated all horizontal surfaces to be painted deck blue, well, they had to comply :-P

when the French warship received their US refits, did their decks receive the standard 20-b coloring? I know Richelieu did, but what of their cruisers/destoyers etc... I recently got the WSW George Leygue and was thinking about starting it right away, as the kit looks superb and ms.22 is a simple paint scheme to work on during my finals. however, I have found few pics of her online and Only one build that was a scratchbuild where her decks appear to be dark grey on the steel decks and wood for the planked areas. Is this correct? Or would it have been painted over?

Thanks for any help guys, :wave_1:

Chris
