For the gun barrels, I would replace them with appropriate size fine brass rod. But thats just my taste. :)

welcoma abourd, was just building the exact same ship :D :D mine didn't have a sinkhole so can't help you there I'm affraid, but as far as the barrels are concerned I just used my fingers (very carefylly) to bend them back to shape. They are quite soft.

anyway, keep us posted and happy modelling, good to see another K-class around :D

Fixing a few problems

Hi Guys!
I just returned to ship modeling after a long hiatus and was inspired by all your fine work. I have purchased HMS Kashmir from WEM (as well as Warspite and Renown) and have a couple of questions.
1. How do you straighten 4.7" barrels (rather delicate) that are warped or are there aftermarket styrene ones you buy?
2. Kashmir's funnel has a 2.5x1mm sinkhole on the port side toward the stern. Best putty to use? Any tips?
I was inspired by Jim Baumann's Kashmir (among many other of his works) and want to cut my teeth on the little guy before attempting her heavy sisters!
Many thanks... John.
