I am removing the post approval process for this section on a trial basis. When posting reviews please begin your title with the MFG name, then the scale, and then subject.

For example:

Shipmodel Company 1/350 USS Shipname here.

Photoetch & Son's 1/700 really cool PE product here.

It allows discussion linked to the original review a bit more seamlessly, for one. Additionally, those who might find the notion of writing a full-fledged review a bit intimidating would hopefully find this easier to get into.

So........how does this differ from the reviews at the beginning of each month?

The purpose of the User Review section is to allow modelers to post their impressions of ship kits. You must be registered to start a new topic and your post requires moderator approval before it will be added. Moderators may suggest ways to clean up your post before it is approved. When you write your review try to point out the basic points such as:

* How is the Engineering / ease of assembly.
* General detail & mold crispness.
* Flash, sink marks, injector pin marks, warped or broken parts and other defects.
* Packaging.
* Decals and Instructions
* Accuracy; Does the kit scale out to the proper dimensions? Does it represent the correct time period?

Do not use derogatory terms to describe kits. For example "this kit is crap" is not allowed. While "the lower hull is 1/8" longer than the upper hull" is allowed. Please note that pointing out flaws in a kit is not slamming it. Not all modelers will have the same expectations of a kit. This is not the forum to complain about importer price margins.

Manufacturers may not review their own kits. But they may address comments made about their kits.

You may also comment on existing reviews on this site. Please include a link to the review you are discussing.
