Didn't read the book but I watched the PBS documentary on the U 869. Definitely interesting and entertaining. IIRC they only mentioned the looping torpedo theory as the possible cause for the destruction of the sub, and not the attack by the Crow and Koiner.

I just finished reading Shadow Divers by Robert Kurson. It's about some divers that uncover a mystery U-boat off New Jersey and their quest to identify it. I would recommend it--an interesting story and a lot of well done research. It was a NYT bestseller in 2004. Has anyone else read it? What did you guys think? Thanks.
