I read in the goofs section on IMDB that the Arizona's memorial can be seen in the background.

Yes the explosions were overly huge, yes the love triangle in the middle was cheesy, but I could live with it. What I couldn't live with was the way they stepped on and trampled over historical accuracy, despite claiming they went to great lengths to research the actual battle beforehand. That fact alone made it hard to watch without laughing openly at certain scenes. The people next to me in the theater must have thought I was a nutcase.
I remember all the hype about the movie before seeing it, how they had researched all the complexed storyline, went on and created those amazing 3D models of the famous vessels on battleship row, then when I finally got to see the movie, I was sat watching planes bombing Spruance class DDs and Knox class FFs.
What the hell was that all about?

..... or the Oklahoma turning completely 180 degrees over and settling back down on sailors trying to swim away. Note the 14" gun barrels were twisted like pretzels as well.

..... or the Arizona jumping out of the water when she blew up. She did lift in the water, but not a couple hundred feet.

..... or the battleships all spaced so far apart the Japanese fighters were able to weave back and forth between them like they were X-Wings inside the trench of the Death Star.

I also didn't know the Missouri was present on December 7th, but I expected her to show up in the movie anyway. The wrong-way angled-deck Japanese carriers as well.

I forget which battleship it was in this abomination of a movie, but the scene of the fighting top toppling down and bouncing on the deck was ssssoo ffffookin`sssssstuuuupid!
