Hi,
I made the flag by printing it on decal paper. Unfortunately, nowsaday most printers can't print the color white, so what I did was that I print out the two sides of the flag decal and "sandwich" a piece of white glossy paper (the type that you find at the back of stickers) in the between. If you don't want to go through with the trouble, just make the flag out of paper and crumple it.

Hope that helps,

Alex

Hey Alex,

Can you tell me where you got the US Flag for your ship?

Thanks Gordon! you know, I should have joined the Navy since I love boats so much... but I get sea sick pretty easily. So I joined the Air Force, and they put me in the centrifuge thing and I almost lost vision at just 5 G (I need to work on better breathing maybe?). I think I feel better with solid land underneath me. Thanks for looking. I'm building a ticonderoga cruiser next, and it's the old USS Mobile Bay kit from Dragon. I heard it doesn't fit very well and it sounds daunting. I'm so glad I found this website. Without seeing all these nice completed models on the gallery, you can lose heart pretty quickly!

Thank you, I will submit photos for the gallery.

Of note for anyone building the Arleigh Burkes, the Flagship Models PE that I used were disappointing. All the ladders were way too short. However, the photoetch did come with helicopter rotor blades and that was nice. Maybe WEM might have been better.

The Goffy figures turned out really well, it's a good deal for anybody looking for 1/350 figures. I paid like $10-15 for 100 figures in 4 poses.

Welcome aboard Alex, and nice work. Don't forget to submit it to the regular gallery as well.

Greetings!
My name is Alex and I'm new. I just want to share my just completed boat, the Chung-Hoon, as it would look in present day. I totally enjoyed building it. I never knew model building could be so addicting. Anyway, it's my first 1/350 scale of anything. It was fun and I learned a ton.

Model is from Trumpeter, PE from Flagship Models, the little human figures are from Goffy Models. There were a few extra things that I had to build, like the CIWS mount, decals, and extra radar domes. But the ship was built pretty much straight from the kit (the position of the radar domes were moved around to reflect the recent refit).

Have a happy Chung-Hoon-liday!
Alex
