I really do admire your tenacity and innovativeness in creating your shipmodels-

-whilst-(or despite..?

) using a,.....by its very nature- a compromised medium to achieve most credible results!

Hi guys! Thanks for the kind comments! I'm sorry I have been so slow to put up any more pictures, but you know how the holidays can be

Of the ships I posted pictures of, only HMS Starling still exists, the rest going to the "breakers," though thankfully they come back as other ships instead of razor blades

That said I don't have too many great close ups of the older ships. I was never happy with how Barham's superstructure worked out and I've since moved on to better techniques, such as removing all of the Lego studs that clutter up the nice lines of the ship. I'm revisiting the Queen Elizabeths for my next project so I'll make sure I get some good close ups going for that one.

Anyways, here are some close-ups of Astoria and Barham, as well as a picture of two of my WIPs. I've been working on the Repulse for almost 10 months now, trying to keep it as close to Andrew F's awesome build as possible, I'll post good detail pictures of it when I am satisfied

Hi guys!

So for a quite a while now, I've been building model ships out of Legos. For about 3 years now I've been popping over here to read the CASF forums, or to cross reference with the models in the galleries. I figured since I've been mooching off all of your knowledge, I could at least pop in and show off some pictures

Over the past year and a half, I've standardized my scale at 1/200, and I've managed to collect enough pieces that camouflage can stay as close as possible to the real thing (though full-hull eluded me for a while as you can see). With that scale, the ships I'm posting range from about 18 to 39 inches in length. A couple (notably Helena and Barham) didn't ever really get completed, due to laziness on the part of the builder.

So, without further blabbering, here are USS Astoria, HMS Warrior, HMS Starling, HMS Caroline, HMS Barham and USS Helena.

And thanks to you guys for all you do on this site, it really has been a treasure trove for me!
