Well ottoirving the Anti-splinter mats were and weren�t ... as the war progress the ijn did start to use these matts less and less...however there are photos of IJN Nagato having them on the eve of Leyte and there are photos of IJN Yamashiro with them in 1943. As for did Kongo having them at Leyte... It might have..it might not have had them. I think that this is modelers� interpitation of how she looked in 44. And lastly these mats would have been by late war standers would have been stained to a darkish tan to a dirty grey color and not left white.

Hello, i want to ask about the white protection in the IJN Ships, i had the idea that were stoped using by the navy because were easy to catch on fire, so do you thing the kongo had? i mean in leyte it is suposed that not. thank you . i add a photo of a modeler reference. tnx




Hallo Kameraden, tengo la duda sobre si el kongo us� los protectores blancos tipicos de la IJN, Tengo entendido que en algun momento se descontinuaron porque tendian a incenciarse, pero he visto pinturas del kongo segun en leyte con los protectores, a quien le hacen caso.? Saludos.
