I can see this thread being very useful again when we tackle the new Trumpeter Blucher kit. The hull is the same as the Hipper's kit so be prepared to follow the method shown here to get it right.

Hi Stein,

We are some divers currently spending a lot of time at the wreck of Blcher now a days. If I get the posts in this thread correct, you have managed to get a hold of the blue prints. We would be very grateful if it is possible for you to send us a copy as we would like to understand what and where all we see are. My email is: larsenta@online.no

Where is this model displayed? Would very much like to go and explore it in depth :)

Thomas

Hi Stein!

I noticed that you have the great DKM Blcher!

And I would like to know how you found the Blcher plans?

My goal is building for 4 differents Hipper-class: Admiral Hipper, Blcher and 2 Prinz Eugens (In Finland water (Aland 1944) and 1941 or 1942 colors

I know that many people have asked you for plans.

Could you send me, too? My email address: jonne_uotila@hotmail.com

I'm going to build DKM Gneisenau, I like it more than DKM Scharnhorst. I have never found its plans! :Mad_6:

But fortunately Kagero published a new DKM Gneisenau's book! :woo_hoo:

Hello Stein,
you did a wonderful work.
Last year I visited Oslo and Oscarsborg. Since this holliday its my plan to build a Blucher in 1/350.
So, could you send me a copy of your plans and drawings, too. My e-mail is holger.jahn.nms@gmx.de.
Many thanks
Holger

I would love to have those plans too! The only ones I have are from the AJ Press books and appear to be Hipper with a re-drawn bow, certianly not what you used.

Hi Dan!

Drawing posted by e-mail today.
Hope they will be of help to you.
Please feel free to forward them to other modellers.

To convert to 1:350: calculate size of the drawing, or part of drawing you want to convert and let .ppt do the job for you (under "Format" you can specify exact size of your selected drawing and print out if needed. Use a known measurement (heigh of mast, lenght of ship etc as a basis for your calculation). :wave_1:

Hello Stein; Sorry for the late inquiry but I am attempting to build Blucher per your post, but am finding I need to get the plans you have as I don't have anything with the required detail for some of the changes. Could you send a copy of your plans in 1/350 or let me know where you got you originals so I can obtain the scale plans. My e-mail is cyberdan51@sbcglobal.net. Thanks

A beautiful build Stein I love the lines in the Kreigsmarine ships!I had heard of the Bulcher but did not know so much of her history. You do some really nice work and rigging(scares the bejezzes out of me) I have alittle railing and rigging left on the Graf Spee in the 1/350 Academy kit.Again nice work :thumbs_up_1:

Close Guchi, but only close. :thumbs_up_1:
Anyhow: your understanding is 100% correct, but next time - the other way around, please:
Pusse= sanding
Sparkle= putting on putty

Some things never change whatever the language:

"pusse-sparkle-pusse". - Putty - sand - putty!!

Agreed Olaf - good idea! :thumbs_up_1:
Especially for those of you that build in the 1:700-scale and need real thin material.

I have some times used painted, thin paper for the same purpose as you mentioned. The disadvantage with this is that you need to take caution not to "crunch" or bend the paper later on.
Soaked with superglue - I need to try it out!

For canvas covering railings, tarpaulins etc, painted aluminium foil (very thin) is a quite suitable material.

If you want it thinner, try paper infused with superglue... works fine too for additional bulwarks and splinter shields...

Happy modelling ~ Olaf!
