Hello Jim,

thank you for information, never heard of this manufacture before. And yes ... I can live with 2 funnels less too. :wave_1:

Only annoying for me is that this ship is not available in 1/350, the scale I prefer,

If you can live with two funnels less...

Dupleix is for you !!

I have the kit of course--but colleague Wolfgang got ahead of me!

but your kit is looking sometimes as good and detailed as it is 1/350.

Thank you!!

JB :wave_1:

Thank you!

Brilliant building :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:
I will keep this post to build mine, even if I don't expect to arrive close to this level.

All the very best,
Eric

Ha!

don't look to me for 1/700 cage ariels

Mike McCabe and David Griffith respectively should be your mentors for these..

I use the convenient excuse to myself that I think I make them overs-scale

ergo that "less is more..."

...that fine pulley system is astonishing! I must get some motivation from this rigging work, to renew my interest in ship modelling in order finish the Warspite. In the meanwhile I bought the HMS Hermes ... and your rigging made me think about those "beautiful" ( and scaring ) cage aerials that can be seen in her '82 configuration.

I probably really am somewhat mad!
Somewhat? You're barking mad! :heh: Do these things ever fail? I'd probably fail 5 times at putting one of these fine rigging lines and afterwards just smash the whole ship before trying another one! Either you have a lot of patience or you're just a motoric (don't know how to say that in English, "when you have perfect coordination and control of your muscles/limbs) genius!

In any case the result is really astonishing, perhaps even more so than anything you've done before. The water effect as well is really nearly perfect North Sea water! Congratulations on yet another winner!!!

"some what mad"! Interesting. It has been said, that there is a fine line between madness and genius and as I follow your builds I think you are "mad" with the things (details) you do, but in the end your genius shines through.
Your builds are always an inspiration to me and I look forward to your next installment.

Thank you for your kind words!

I shake my head at my own obsessiveness sometimes!!!

In none of the photos is the pulley system hoist for the WT antenna spar visible...

here it is for you => stretched sprue on very thin copper wire spar

I probably really am somewhat mad! it was a decidedly flexible top-mast!

The more funnels, the more I like them, and when it's done by Mr.Bauman...
Stunning masts and rigging (again!).

My thoughts exactly. Another stunning build with masts and rigging of a delicacy and credibility Ill never achieve.

Kudos from
