just an update.

I also found images (port and starboard) of the Order for HMS Highflyer on the IWM website but they do have the coloured plans for several protected/armoured cruisers including Roxburgh (same scheme as King Alfred), Leviathan, Amphitrite (what a cracker of a scheme - I'd love to know what the colours and exact pattern was), Cornwall, Donegal etc. Lots of Flower Class sloops and others.

It must be a matter of contacting the IWM and finding out if they can supply copies or if the only way to view these are in person - a little difficult for me now that I'm in NZ.

After unwrapping my present (to self) of N. Friedman's new Victorian Cruisers book I was delighted to see a picture of the Drake-class HMS King Alfred in late war dazzle paint. This would make a great conversion of the Combrig kit but of course the colours and port-side scheme are not accessible.

A bit or research does show that the IWM has some original sheets (or a sheet) of a Drake-class dazzle scheme (actually of King Alfred) but the image is not available, or has not even been digitised.

Has anyone had sight of this?
