Scratch-building model of 1890's Pre-dreadnought Battleship

Hi,I'm very intrested in naval history and Ironclad and Pre-dreadnought ships from the mid 1800's up until the beginning of the Twentieth century,I have started carving and shaping a hull from a piece of radiata pine of a either,Royal sovereign,Majestic or Formidable class Pre-dreadnoght battleship from the 1890's? that I have started 'Scratch-bulding',the model will be around two and a half feet long(175cm?) when completed hopefully?,I am basically following the same technique I used when I constructed a similar model of RMS Titanic around ten years ago, which is about two feet(70cm?) long, any tips,or suggestions fellow modellers?
