Wish I remembered where I got the picture so I could credit it.

Had an afternoon of sheer terror last night as I tried repeatedly to open up my assembly file of the entire ship. Every time I tried to open it or one of three other sub assemblies SolidWorks crashed. I tried everything for several hours and was finally able to get one of the subassemblies to partially open and found the error was coming from this guy:

It's the RIM-7A launcher. The file became corrupted and every time SW tried to open it, it got a belly ache. So now I need to recreate the early Sea Sparrow launcher. I could just redo the work I have already done but it would be nicer if I could find some better pictures and/or drawings of one. I know this one isn't that accurate.

I think I'll probably keep this set at the same $70 plus shipping the Scharnhorst drawings are at. The sheets will be longer but there will probably be one fewer sheet per set.

Paper drawings, blueprints as it were, of the finished model.

Today I worked on flushing out details on the AN/SPS-12 radar antenna. Dragon only wanted the thin overall surface, they didn't want structure. So I got to go a little hog wild and maybe a little stoopid with the frame.

CVN-65 U.S.S. Enterprise (1969)

Awhile back I spent five months doing a U.S.S. Enterprise for Dragon's 700th scale model which has been announced but seems t be delayed. I have had a lot of success selling drawings of the Scharnhorst model so I thought I would repeat the process for Enterprise. The problem lies in the nature of the model making business. A 700th scale model doesn't need to have as much detail as a 350th kit. But a 350th kit doesn't need as much detail as 1/100th scale drawings. There was also the issue that I didn't model some of the existing CAD that Dragon already had, like the anchors and a couple antennas. So in order to release a set of drawings, I need to spend another few months detailing out the model I already have. Towards that end, I began to look over the model and see what I was missing. The first thing I added was a relatively simple AN/SPS-42 landing control radar.
