Lambert & Brown - "In 1940 approval was given for 24 to be fitted for Oropesa wire minesweeping, with steam winches aft. A further 8 (later 16) were to be fitted with LL sweeps stowed on large reels for dealing with magnetic mines."

I would assume all 24 Oropesa ships had the rounded stern.

A quick search shows the following with Oropesa gear
Aubretia
Abelia
Gloxinia
Alisma
Zinnia
Orchis
Heather

Thanks. Agreed that those are from the Canadian "Modified Flower" group, with the 2pdr bandstand aft.

I'm wondering about British earlier ships, outfitted for oropesa minesweeping, with the greater amount of eqpt on the fantail. (as opposed to the ships outfitted for magnetic minesweeping, which only required a reel for a single line out the centerline)

I'm starting to get the impression that the Canadian ships had the squared stern, which coincidentally provided more working space. And the British ships, when fitted for minesweeping, had to make do with the smaller area available with the British rounded stern.

Short answer - yes.

As you are no doubt aware Flowers can differ almost from ship to ship, and so it can be hard to pin down details for specific ships without photo ref, however if you look at what are known as the "modified Flowers" these appear to all have the wider stern (and the bandstand to the rear as you mentioned).

My ref suggests there were 11 British and 48 Canadian modified Flowers. Possibly the following, as I'm nowhere near being an expert on all the subtle differences between ships.
HMS Charlock
HMS Balsam
HMS Potentilla
HMS Burnet
HMS Charlock

I'm interested in the British Flowers that were rigged to act as minesweepers with the Oropesa system, if there were any.

I have the Ensign Flower book, the Warship Perspectives, the Shipcraft and the Anatomy of the Ship. I learned that Canadian minesweeping Flowers had a bigger, square stern to provide more working area for the equipment, and there is a list of Canadian Flowers with the Oropesa system.

Question: does anyone know which British Flowers used this system and whether they had the squared stern?

I know about the printable version, but that is not what I am looking for.
I enlarged the Agassiz frame plans in Cad and am drawing the frames at this moment.
These will be laser cutted from multiplex.

Steam engine is underway from Ebay.

As for the 3D files, well, there's a guy who sells a fully 3D printed version of the Flower Class called "Bens Worx". I'm building up the Castle Class printes that he sells. You pay $50 for the print files, then you can print them all yourself.

I am planning in building a model of the Agassiz.
I do have the book Anatomy of the ship Agassiz.
The frame and line plans in the book are really inaccurate when enlarged.

Is there someone that has CAD files available of a correct frame and lines plan?

I need to draw my frames in CAD to be laser cutted.

A guy named Bob Pearson in Canada did some beautiful one of RCN corvettes, but I don't know if he is in business anymore? If you find a source for alternate decals please let us know.

So, the Revell 1/144 Snowberry has been out for some time now and I wondered if anyone knows a source for alternative decals for other corvettes? I believe Hawk Graphics does hull number and it seems that canmilair no longer does ship decals.

Thank you JCRAY, I was aware of James research which was why I asked. I have a couple of tins of the old 507B bought for British battleships which is no longer correct, so was hoping as you say the mid grey is the 50/50 mix.

There was a lot of confusion about RN colors from various sources. Thanks to the research by James at Sovereign Hobbies 507B is the same color as 507A with the enamel removed.
The mid grey could be a 50/50 mix of 507A/B and 507C due to wartime conditions.
Only Sovereign sells these paints.
Click their link on the front page for a better explanation.
Of course it's your model & your paint so (mid gray) is your choice of paint.

Looking for some help please on a colour, Ensign 03 Flower Class Corvettes on page 3 has a picture of HMS Convolvulus mid 1941 that says �she is painted in an overall mid grey� would this be 507B. Any help appreciated Al.

The ship in question is the "Alisma", a photo is in the Flower Class Corvette book by John Lambert
The author of the post inaccurately said hexagon instead of octagon shape of grill.

I do have another request.
Does anybody have the booklet Warship Perspectives: Flower Class Corvettes in World War Two?
Unfortunately it has been out of print for a while. I do have a photo, please see below and in ShipCraft�s Flower Class is a sketch of it. Therefore I assume that there is more in the Warship booklet.
If so, would it be possible to send me some high resolution photos from the pictures / drawings of the Snowflower?
