For masking I'd recommend the Micro Mask. Brush it on. When dry spray the entire plane/canopy. AFTER you gloss-coat, apply decals, then dullcoat the decals etc., remove the mask with a very sharp toothpick (or x-acto if necessary) and the glass will be clear. Tinting can be done with a well thinned semi-clear like Tamiya mmoke or semi-transparent green etc. simply bushed on in thin coats to get to the level of tint required.

I've tried just about every technique I can find, and never get satisfying results.

What's your favorite technique for painting/masking/tinting canopies & windows on aircraft & helicopters? I remember GMM had a set of blue-gray decals designed for the 1/350 Tamiya Enterprise aircraft, but I haven't seen anything similar for the more recent V-22s, H-60 family, H-53s, etc, molded in clear.
I've got the MRC LPD-21, but am unsure how best to tackle the aircraft...
