What can I say

Isn't it nice, when you can rely on people to go out of there way to help other modeler's.
My special praise must go to our Admiral, Ron Horabin, who without his help and generosity, I would not be building Marlborough.
Ron has been a great inspiration to me and set me on the road of scratchbuilding. It all started last summer, when I joined this site, and stumbled on Ron's North Caroliner Build.
Once I saw this ship, I was instantly hooked, to wanting more information. Ron lives not too far from me, so I gave him a phone call and asked him, if I could pop in and see him sometime, when I was in his area ( I was a delivery driver at that time). Ron welcomed me, as though we had been friends for a very long time. He really is a very nice guy and just loves helping other people who are interested in getting into scratchbuilding.
He showed me all his wonderful model's and actually gave me a full set of plans for nothing, that he had purchased from The National Maritime Museum, of the Aircraft carrier H.M.S. Illustrious, which cost him 85.
H.M.S. Victorious, is one of four Illustrious class Carrier's, and this has always been my dream, to own a model of her at some time in my life, as I served on board one of her escort frigates when I was in the R.N. during the 1960's
This model will be started sometime in the near future, but I got hooked on Ron's Iron Duke, which then, was in it's early build stage. Ron, went through the build he had done so far, and I thought that to gain experience, I could follow Ron's lead, by doing my own model of a ship of this class, hence the birth of the Marlborough.
Ron kindly aggreed to loan me the plan's, which I had copied and then returned them back to him.
As most of you have probably looked at my build progress, I am making good headway with my first ever fully scratchbuilt model. Ron, is always there to help, he has even took the trouble to get certain items for me, such as PE and Litho Plate, which I would have found difficult to get hold of.
Since then, Ron and I have become good friends and spend hours chatting to each other by PM or on the phone.
Before I end this half a book, I would just like to thank Dave Wooley, who supplies the Litho Plate for Ron, and for his interest in my efforts so far. It is also nice to receive all the kind words that all of you comment on when viewing my build progress.
