The Russian Sailing Navy, 1696-1860, version is available quite inexpensively from Naval & Military Press. FYI

I guess it will be new, including e.g. more detailed informations about the history of the individual ships. To compensate the number of ships covered is reduced, because only the period up to 1863 is included.

Perhaps also the drawings will be replaced by newly drawn ones - similar as it was done in the last books of that series by Winfield.

British Warships in the Age of Sail 1817-1863: Design, Construction, Careers & Fates is a new book by Rif Winfield listed by Seaforth Publishing. I have his, with David Lyon, prior book The Sail and Steam Navy List: All the Ships of the Royal Navy, 1815-1889 and am wondering how much is a reworking and how much is new? Anyone seen an advance copy?
