I've just started to do 1:700 waterline. I've just completed the Hood
straight from the box and 3 destroyers. (got them second hand cheap 5 dollars each)
KG V (my only one form 15 years ago) now I'm working on the Rodney and
Yamoto and expecting the Bismarck soon. (I know it's lot but I'm not doing the
super detailing that would drive me nuts, I'm just going for presentable)
My previous experience has been doing 1:35 armor when I was a teenager.
I find 1:700's easier to display.
I'm really impressed at the level of detail here by some of the members
which I dare not attempt to duplicate at my age.
Having said that I find 1:700 scale extremely frustrating to work with.
Esp things like lifeboats and davits. Is there an easy way to get them
mounted without buggering them up? I usually glue the lifeboats to the
davits let them dry a bit and then hope I can fit them to the holes in the
deck without them falling apart or looking crooked.
Also how do I glue fine parts together without leaving glue marks?
If i don't use enough the part separate.
Thanks
