Thanks, Pepe ! My Japanese is as good as yours

It appears to me that this is a digital 3D-Model rendering on the basis of the picture of the KWAITEN that is also found on various Wikipedia sites.

A builder's model of the DANZIG has survived in the Science Museum since it was donated by J.S. Russel in 1868 (see http://www.scienceandsociety.co.uk/resu ... =1&itemx=1). Unfortunately the drawings that went with it cannot be located currently. It is known, however, that she was built at the Klawitter yard in Danzig/Gdansk not exactly to the plans.

Grazie molto a Roma (used to work there for a while, many years ago) :thumbs_up_1:

The German Wikipedia page, of course, I knew, but hadn't found yet the others.

Still any hints on books on the pre-Imperial Japanese Navy are most welcome.

Is there any published material, book etc. on the Japanese navy before 1869 ?

Is there a source for images for the Japanese navy before 1869 ?

I would be particularly interested in images of the paddle-frigate KWAITEN, ex-british EAGLE, ex-prussian DANZIG, launched in 1851 in Danzig.
