Actually, it wasn't British postal policy, it was them enforcing IATA regulations, so blame the airlines. But at the end of the day, while an inconvenience that didn't help, it wasn't that that did in WEM--it was the old bottom line.

Yeah John: one of my favorite ship books. I wish other small and medium sized navys could be shown in the same way. I have heard others question his color schemes but he did years of research and besides that light grey-green for surface ships and grey and olive for subs looks cool. How are you guys doing, sounds like British postal policy stuck a harpoon in your business. Dirty rotten bastards! Hope to hear more from you in the future. Thanks Dan

Thanks Dan however while checking on Dutch forums I found a Niko instruction sheet for another dutch sub which lists the green as light olive and the grey as medium grey so I'm sorted thanks. It did course a bit of confusion though as it pointed to the front dive planes and called out the old discontinued Humbrol colour WWI purple, I've since worked out that its a colour very like hull red and have a Vallejo colour from a conversion chart, slight difference in shade so will add interest when lined up with the rest of the collection.

Most of the color info on the O-16 and other Dutch ships from this model co. comes from a book called "Dutch Warships of WWII" by Henk van Willigenburg. It is out of print but can be purchased used through Amazon. You can try contacting the author thru the publisher, www.lanasta.com. The copy I have was published in 2010. ISBN978-90-8616-081-5. Lanasta, Slenerbrink 206, 7812 HJ Emmen, the Netherlands. Or you could take your instruction sheet to a hobby shop or game store that carry's Valejo paints and try matching it up. I did this on the U-boat Lab kit of U-14, which shows a purple top side hull and green underside. Found a really close match for both without mixing. Good luck Dan

I'm building the Pacific Cross Roads 1/350 O-16 1941 however the colour call outs could be better, they list light grey for the tower and deck gun and green for the upper hull.
What I need are the correct shades of light grey and green for this sub in 1941, Vallejo, Lifecolor or WEM colourcoats preferred.
