Hi,

Now that the Russian Steregushchy Corvette (Combrig) and the HDMS Absalon (NNT Modell) projects are completed, I'm resuming the work on my LCC-19 Blue Ridge, as the following photos shows:

Hi,

Some weekend updates on this project can be seen in the next photo:

The areas marked with the red lines required some filler and paper sand in order to create a smooth surface between the parts.
Regarding the main deck, I chose to fix all 3 parts together and add reinforcements underneath in order to create a more solid part. Also under the deck the areas marked with the blue lines required sand down, because of the new plastic parts I added (marked with the green lines).

As I want to represent the latest version of the LCC-19 Blue Ridge, I replaced the Davit Boats on both sides of the model with new parts completely scratch built in plastic card, marked with the green lines.

I also added the helicopter landing lights on the stern of the model.

No decision yet regarding the configuration of the accommodation ladders (yellow lines)�

Hi,

check the photo on the first message of this topic with the red lines, pointing to the accommodation ladders that are clearly visible on the Trumpeter kit (engraved on parts B1 and B2 with a rectangular shape), although there is not a single photo as far as I know of the real ships with those accommodation ladders opened...

That's what I thought too, but I never saw a photo of the LCC-19/20 with the accommodation ladders open, and I think this is a little bit strange...
Also in the photos of the real ship I can't see anything in the location where Trumpeter model has the accommodation ladders and that's weird too!

It looks like they are. I was scoping out some pictures of the Blue Ridge on Google, the actual ship has them stowed on the deck not on the side like in the model, but; for the model it is a logical assumption that they represent the accomodation ladders.

I'm working on USS Blue Ridge LCC-19 (the latest version), and I wonder if the parts marked with a red line in the photo are accommodation ladders (2 on each side).
