For what it is worth, I thought that you had an excellent build up of this kit by your post of July 26, needing only some rigging to make it shelf ready. As Gabor noted above, I was under the impression that you were new to modeling and that this was your first ship. Perhaps you are being too ambitious if you are trying to incorporate as many of the available modeling techniques into just one build, especially your first ship build.
We see so many great, very artistic representations of different ships here on the board, some if not many of them museum quality work, and it is very, very tempting to set your own bar that high your first time out. I fell prey to that mistake myself and suffered a great deal of needless frustration as a result. It takes years and years of practice, as well as a certain intangible gift of talent, to do what some of these folks do. I ultimately came to realize that and that I had to learn to walk before I could run, so I went back to the basics, starting out building essentially out of the box, with some basic PE, then started working on my skill sets to let me to a little more, and a little better each build.
In short, don't feel like you have to cover as many aspects of ship modeling as possible your first time out. You built a good model in my opinion and I'd be pleased to display her on my shelf any time. Give her some rigging and then sit back with a certain sense of satisfaction and enjoy looking at the fruits of your efforts. And, don't focus on the "mistakes" or "flaws" that only you will know exist.
Best wishes,
Bob Melvin
