but you are right. for chipping on the lower hull should be grey color not rust. My small mistake, but rust can be on upper hull. So at now I'm looking rust color from photo and grey color for lower hull.

Lifecolor is not available in my local modeling shop, and I prefer tamiya. but I can use vallejo and pactra
Aha, you're looking for a nice paint for the antfouling red!
In Humbrol, I can get very close to this color with Brick Red 70, lightened with Flesh 61. In Tamiya acrylics, I would probably use Hull Red XF9, mixed with a fairly large amount of Flesh XF15.

If I'm correct, this is the model from the AK video. It is made by Fran Romero, and depicts the ship damaged and in drydock, hence the holes: http://www.modelshipgallery.com/gallery ... /index.htm

For chipping I use a red brown/black mix and apply with a tiny piece of sponge. But that's for armor models. :wave_1:

Well, probably that AK product would work... :)

I think you're talking about very dark brwon chips, not the grey ones?
I usually do this kind of very dark chips with a mixture of Humbrol black 33 and Humbrol brown bess 170. But since the brown bess is not available anymore, I'm using now raw umber oil paint instead, still mixed with a lot of Humbrol black 33.
If I want lighter rust, I add or overpaint with Humbroll leather 62.

Cheers!

Hello guys

I want to learn sth new. I want to make chipping on the lower hull on my Z-43 model but I don't know which rust color should I use. I have DVD "weathering german ships" but on the film author didn't show the rust color which he used. He showed only AK Interactive chipping product
