Maxime...

yeah that was most puzzling questions i had to dealt with it. as most of informations and pictures of FUSO , are referring to Russ-Japanese War. so for me, whom it's building 1984 version, it's very difficult to build the model. every glueing could be disaster. :mad_1: hehehehe :heh:

from Matsuzaki's website.."???"

http://ussoregon.blog.fc2.com/blog-date-201212.html

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

?24???? 4?( in stalled in citadel inside the hull)
?17???? 2?(original Krupps Guns, but converted to central pivotal , instead of pivot on rails)
??7.5???? 4?
??7.5???? 2?(Matsuzaki, think this is field gun ) , on chinese publication it is call (Sampan Gun)
?????????25?????4?? 7
?????????11??5????? 4

??????????????????????????????????

??7.5??????7.5???????????
?????????????24????17????????????????????

??????????????????????????????????????????????????

His conclusion is , Fuso's captain requested upgrades and list of new armaments to be installed, but due to urgency of war with China, and priority of the ship. he doubt FUSO got any major upgrade. he also email me a list of original scanned captain and Navy department transcript/ ship log, to back up his claims. if needed i can email you those transcript..

yes, I am also building Ping Yuen, i have Fairy Kikaku kit, but again very awfully casted, i have seem the Oceanmoon kit on the website, but don't have Ping Yuen, I also have many Oceanmoon kits, very nice but not excellent. workable.. :) , see enclose picture of new kit i got, from Oceanmoon and Fairy Kikaku..

thanks Daruis :)

Unfortunately there seems to be more information about 1899/1900 version of Fuso than about 1895 one... Try googling ???? ??????? ?? and see if it will get you anything. Just don't get your hopes too high :(

According to Warships of the Imperial Japanese Navy, 1869-1945 by Jentschura, Jung and Mickel Fuso was converted in 1894. And lost already then the sailing rig and got 8x 6 in guns.

She was refitted again in 1899-1900 and got 2x 6 in and 4x 4.7 in.

Does this fit to your informations? I do not really trust in the informations of that book.

Do you built also Ping Yuen? There are kits by Oceanmoon and Fairy Kikaku, but unfortunately I have found only the one by Fariy Kikaku - again with this strange hull made as several small parts.

Hi Maxime

it had been a while... good to see you. :cool_2:

I had Fairy Kikaku kit. super painful to look at it. I had many of their kits and it bewildered me why they casted a ship in two parts!!!! very painful... ( look at background )

and then, ... luckily I stumbled a Japanese modeler website, his name is Matsuzaki. Who helped me tremendously in finding resin kit and informations on IJN FUSO...

but the resin kit, ( I have the blue color resin Fuso ) it's not the best representation of FUSO i had imagined for 1894 Sino-Japanese war and it split in midsection!!! :faint:

the resin kit of Fuso, mostly are represented as Russ-Japanese war. with 6"QF in bow and stern. so armed with information Matsuzaki gave, i set out to scratch build it...
