Ok, but I would think construction considerations on a model would be similar.

Here is an abandoned build o the California from years ago. As I recall, I built up the vertical and horizntal casemate areas in the notches on the hull stations, then sheeted the hull side and trimmed excess.

Cement attacked the hull sides. I used .015 and should have used .020

Better way? I do know, if I use this method again, I need to enlarge the notches to accommodate .030 or so parts.

I've done these semi successfully when I did wood hulls, a rebuilt Nevada. Do you build the casemate area against the hull formers and underside of the main deck, then put on hull sides? I always end up with gaps and a general mess.
