I use the Liquitex brand, and yes, it's the consistency and color of mayonaise right out of the bottle. It will dry clear. I have realized, however, that if you do any sort of working of the gel to create waves, wakes, etc., you are going to get air bubbles in the the finished water and you will need to paint it anyway, so it drying clear or not doesn't matter to me at all.

Well, more like a creme or gel-like form than really liquidy (like, not as liquid as water).

It is white in liquid form. Applied thinly it dries clear but, in my experience at least, it dries more opaque the thicker it is applied.

Hi all, :wave_1:

after reading the article about making water with acrylic gel medium, I went to my LHS and I think I found the stuff but I need to know two things: is it correct that the stuff is white when in liquid form and how clear will it be when it dries?
