Thanks for the ideas guys. Timmy, I couldn't find that thread when I originally searched. (I am search challenged at times lol)
Larry, Elyria isn't in it's prime anymore but it's still here and kicking. I will experiment with a few things and let you know what works. I just didn't want to put the floater net baskets on my Indianapolis empty.

Someone asked this under "Float Basket Filler" not too long ago: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=161821

Mike,
For my 1/192 Alaska I made the floats out by cutting .020 rod into 3/64 lengths, filled the basket with putty, spread Gator glue on that and set the floats randomly in place. I didn't worry about the connecting line as it would have too small. I think it came out pretty realistic. I have attached the website which shows pictures of the Alaska and the floater baskets.
I know you are modeling in 1/700, which makes things even smaller, but hopefully this might give you some ideas.
By the way, is Elyria City still in business? I used to live in Olmsted Township before moving to Georgia.

Don't think there's much that look like floaters on rope in 1/700. You could take fine thread, soak in white glue/water, and carefully stuff into the baskets, then glue short lengths of fine styrene rod on top, for the floaters. :wave_1:
