Thank you for your comments.

I'm not sure how far I want to take it with detailing, I guess for now I'll just see how it goes until I've had enough and just want to see it finished, if took me a couple of weeks just to paint the deck to look like wood. Ali I guess it depends on what type of pics I find online, I would love to see more detail inside the hangars.

How much are you going for this in terms of detail and accuracy?

Great subject! Revell kit is very, very good as well. I recently grabbed a Tirpitz kit with the help of Maarten Schnfeld (thanks, Maarten!) Though we will need to figure out how to ship the kit...

Looking forward to more updates! Looks like you have scratch-built quite many bits and pieces as well.

1/350 Revell Battleship Bismarck

I have been working on this Bismarck project for quite some time, on and off, there is a lot of work to be done on this one.

She is my second Bismarck. The first I built back in the 90's when I first got hooked on 1/350 scale modeling, I purchased everything that was available in that scale, most kits where from Tamiya.

Most of the kits wheren't bad but the Bismarck and her sister Tirpitz always bothered me, these two where very lacking in detail and for several years I wanted to update the two sisters so I started to do some research to see what's out there and which would be best, I finally decided on the Bismarck from Revell Germany, apon arriving the box was twice as large as most other 1/350 ship kits.

When I first started my preliminary inspection of the kit and the sprues I saw that my decision to get this kit was a good one. The detailing was impressive, a large improvement on the Tamiya kit.

In the pics I have uploaded I showed the Tamiya kit, I have stripped it of useful parts and my 3 year old has helped to age it. There is also a side by side shot.

In some of the other pics it shows the white styrene details I have added so far.

Enjoy!
