If you have a Dremel, use the grinder tool and thin the plastic from the inside where you want the damage to be. Thin it until you can just distinguish daylight through the thin plastic - the plastic should be paper thin. Poke through the plastic from the inside (or from the outside) with a nail, or any sharp instrument, to make explosion damage. Add any interior damaged details. :wave_1:

Seriously though, its just a case of cutting the plastic away, scratch building the decks and debris below, and using some PE or metal sheets cut and bent into shape around the 'explosion' zone then?

tbh, i thought this would be a lot harder than that, i had visions of trying to bend plastic and cutting it and all sorts when i was trying to mentally picture it :big_grin:

first post, so please be gentle with me :wave_1:

Im building the Hobby Boss Kursk kit, but... im wanting to do it as the wreck of the Kursk, as she sat on the floor of the Barents sea before she was salvaged. My question is, how do you accurately create explosion damage given that the outer hull is made from plastic and its not the most malleable material?

something like the damage shown here is what im aiming for
