DKM Zerstorers Z-1-/Z-21 Camouflage patterns

Well, I don't know how the WoW guys will use it as I'm not a WoW member. But I think it doesn't require too great correction (ok, the turret part could be revised as it seems the guy doesn't know why the Germans painted their turrets ).
Naturally I can offer some material to Bob for reading:

As a regular reader of this forum I know that even you are a good source Olaf

The problem with summaries like this is, that they pick up bits and pieces from here and there, relying on stuff to be found on the internet, and don't tell the whole story (which btw. is impossible). It is, IMHO, not correct to say that things went complicated in terms of paints, when that Austrian fool took over. And of course, at the beginning of the war they had different paint chips than those shown. Just lets hope that the WoW guys to not use this as primary reference...

Happy painting ~ Olaf!

Hello Bob,

The Germans didn't use any particular camo in the first half of the war. So, up to the Narvik campaign the destroyers wore their peactime colors, Dunkelgrau 51 for the hulls and Hellgrau 50 for the superstructure. Here you can find a short article about what other colors were used:

The only "camo" was that they removed all pennant numbers, ship names and painted their turret tops and sides to red, yellow or blue according to which war theater they were present or in which operation they participated.

In particularly what colors they wore during the early part of the war up to the Narvik campaign. I have the Trumpeter kits Z-7 and the Z-21 but, I'm interested in all the others as well.
