A likely story. Most likely the poop deck was shot away by a Pirate Ship! That's where all you slimey limeys have damage to your ships, running away from the Pirates!!!!! :destroyer:

That's something they never forget. Could be another reason for the dambage to Iron Duke.

LOOSING AN AIRCRAFT. This is a court marshal offence. We may have to demote him to Able Seaman :lol_3: :lol_3: :lol_3: :lol_3:

The loss of a poop deck is not as bad. You are confined to your cabin Admiral, until the dockyard has fitted a new one. :lol_3: :lol_3: :lol_3:

WHAT , NO DRINKIES, :lol_spit_1: :lol_spit_1: :lol_spit_1:

Iron Duke having 4 props it did not effect me as much as Dave , Blucher only having 3, the middle and 1 outer prop was weeded up, I still had 2 working at least.

Nice shots there Ron. Who is the other guy with Dave? His model looks great too. :thumbs_up_1:

Sorry to hear about the poop deck, at least you didn't loose the Duke herself.

by ARH » Sun May 28, 2006 6:02 pm

LES did not turn up.

It was not a fully succesful day, Iron Duke lost her poop deck

and Blucher lost her aircraft, it was a fine day but a very windy day, Iron Duke caught her sturn on the lock gates and the poop deck being built of litho plate sank to the bottom of the cannal, :lol_3: :lol_3: , so a little more building to do before the 2nd July.

Hi Jim, Thanks for the post, I hope to get some more photos on the site as soon as she sails again, you can say OUCH, there was lots of rain of the 3/4 of an hour we sailed, no water inside, but even though I treated the rear deck, must have only given it 1 coat of varnish, the front deck had 3, the rear deck began to lift in the middle, it is trapped in a slight raised section either side where the handrails are, after leaving it to dry naturaly it returnd to its original shape, normaly we possibly would not have sailed, but if you say you are going to do something, then you have to do it, or disapoint a lot of people. :woo_hoo: :woo_hoo: :wave_1: :thumbs_up_1:

There are things happening, top secret, have thrown a few hints out, :lol_3: :lol_3: The CIC does not even know yet, ARH

ID looks good on the water--but that rain... ouch! ...

I guess you are having a build break... or is there something stirring down in the shed...? :eyebrows:

Hope you are keeping well and enjoying teh operating side of the ID project!

Best Wishes
