...Personnaly, I use 3mm thickness to built hull, deck and sides.
Strong enough to support all the work and manipulations, I could'nt see deformation 20 years later...

Actually I have. Its from using too thin a sheet worrying about the curves at the bow and stern and it rippled a bit. Im debating reskinning the sides except about the first 1/2 inch on both ends

Did you see that the form of the hull is irregular under the bridge, certainly deformation made by manipulations ...

Good looking work there Gary, keep it up. Certainly scratchbuilding a ship from bare plastic tends to be a lot more satisfying than working with a kit!

Oh btw, horizantal parts on superstructure so far are all .030 except the cam shaped riser in front which is .040 top/bottom and structure sheeted with .012
